My solution was to grab a dxgi.dll file from a wholly different version, and that much at least lets me launch Special K and all the updated textures just fine, but I think it also prevents me from using SpecialK's version of ReShade. I heard the SpecialK version avoided that issue, but now I can't seem to get ReShade to load up at all.ĮDIT: This might be the root of the issue, but the dxgi.dll in both versions of Special K was causing my launcher to loop indefinitely, despite running the launcher, the exe files, and a modified launcher as admin, and creating a steam_appid.txt file. Once ReShade is installed drop the ReShade Vanilla Plus.ini into the Fallout New Vegas folder Once in-game press the home key to open the reshade interface, click the drop down menu at the top and find ReShade Vanilla Plus.ini and select it. Select all of the effect packages in the menu if they are. Search for the file titled RobloxLauncher.exe to Run it and select OpenGL.Add Roblox Shaders. Head to where the zip file is then right-click on this file, and then select Extract files. Any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong? I know what the menu is supposed to look like, because I experimented with a full ReShade install before, but I hated how fuzzy the UI got. Download the zip file from Reshade’s official website. When I boot up the game, I see the Special K banner at the top, but when I load my game, nothing happens when I press Shift+F2. But despite how detailed and simple the installation steps are, I can't seem to get the ReShade menu to trigger in-game.

So I've been following the excellent step-by-step guide for how to mod Shenmue, and while I ran into some snags along the way, I'm finally at the point where the only thing left is the ReShade for Shemue 1.
